  • Relief and temporary chef cover

    We supply Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and Head Chef level cover for short-term and longer-term requirements.

    Most relief work operates on a week-to-week basis, with bookings typically confirmed the week before. Many clients use us for single shifts, planned cover, or regular weekly support, while others rely on longer temporary bookings where continuity is important. In some cases, Head Chef cover has extended over several months to support stability during change or busy periods.

    Forward planning always gives the best results, but we also understand that staffing issues do not always come with notice. For emergency cover, we will always explore every available option to fill shifts at short notice.

  • Permanent placements

    Alongside temporary support, we place chefs into permanent hospitality roles nationwide.

    Our permanent recruitment work is built around understanding the role, the kitchen environment, and the wider team, allowing us to introduce candidates who are suited not just on paper, but in practice. We invest time and budget into each search, proactively advertising roles and approaching suitable candidates directly, rather than relying solely on applicants.

    We carry all recruitment risk and upfront cost, with no charge until the right candidate is placed.

    Many permanent placements begin with chefs who have already worked on relief, giving clients confidence through first-hand experience before committing long term.

Our core relief coverage is focused on the East Midlands and South Yorkshire, where we can reliably support clients week in, week out. We also regularly work across central England, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Lancashire.

Relief cover is primarily focused on our core areas, but we will still explore options elsewhere where possible.

Matching chefs to kitchens

Every booking is matched with care, considering experience, temperament, and the type of kitchen involved.

Clients can provide as much or as little information as they wish. Some simply need a chef who can arrive and get on with the job, while others prefer to share more detail. Where useful, we turn this information into a structured client briefing so chefs know what to expect before they arrive.

Chefs are always talked through the role in advance and provided with a client sheet ahead of the shift. We supply the right level of information to help chefs arrive prepared and confident, leading to smoother services and better outcomes on site.

Communication and support

Clients deal directly with Chris or Tony, both ex-chefs with extensive experience in fine dining and professional kitchens.

Communication is handled by phone or business WhatsApp, and our involvement is shaped by what each booking requires. Where helpful, we are also happy to share practical advice or an outside perspective based on our experience in kitchens, informally and without charge. We will support whenever needed, while allowing chefs and kitchen teams the space to work together effectively.
